Refuting claims that Bible translations are not Inspired (God Breathed)

This article is especially to refute claims made by Pastor R. Bala in his website (https://biblelamp.me). I am writing here as Pastor Bala does not publish comments that are made in his website about his articles.

Recently I heard an audio sermon posted on this website in which Pastor Bala talked about Luke 4:16 – 30. In this sermon Pastor Bala lamented that a verse here was not correctly translated and the real meaning was lost. He also mentioned that the Tamil Bible is full of hard to understand words and archaic words.

What Pastor Bala failed to realize is that the explanations that he gave about this verses are plainly stated in the Bible.

And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? (Luke 4:22)

Pastor Bala was explaining what the Jews meant when they said “Is not this Joseph's son?” and why they were angry at Jesus to the extent they wanted to kill Him.

The reason or continuation of this verse can be found in Matthew 13:54-58 and Mark 6:1-6.

I am sad that a Pastor with such talent has little understanding of God’s saving power.

He is constantly attacking the Bible translations. He is proud of his knowledge in Hebrew and Greek. He is also proud of his ability to write and to translate from English to Tamil.

His ultimate goal is to translate a new Tamil Bible. A better Tamil Bible using the latest Tamil Grammar and rules.

He wants to make the Bible easily to understand by everyone.

If as per his view, only Hebrew Bible and Greek Bibles are inspired and easily to read and understand, then why are the Jews still rejecting Jesus?

There would be no need for Pastors.

Christianity is about God. As it is written:

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:  That no flesh should glory in his presence. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)

The Bibles are tools. The Bible cannot save anyone by its own. You need God. Nothing is perfect without God. We can try to make the Bible as plain as possible, but even then you need God’s help to understand God’s saving Power.
